Brick by Brick

అక్టోబర్ 2016

Is this what it was all about?
This?
Everything we had come to believe…
or may be,
It was just me, who believed

and you knew the truth.

Your footsteps
was the last thing I heard
failing to discern
between sound
and echo
fading away, like
I wish my memory would.

Truth is just a synonym
for its opposite…
Trust,
The thesaurus equivalent
of betrayal.

The final handshake was
the final brick
in the wall,
cemented with past hurts
Foundations running down
till the first memory
of ours shared.

Our path has cracked in to two
our backs face each other.
My heart faces the slammed door of yours.

Yet…

Tomorrow,
after a good night’s sleep
I will learn
to accept
and forget.
